Laura Chadwick, DVM
General practitioner Dr. Laura Chadwick has cared for pets at the Animal Hospital of North Asheville since 2006. Dr. Chadwick is a native of Virginia, and working with animals has long been her passion. During her time in college, she worked in a veterinary hospital, and it was there she realized veterinary medicine was the perfect way to combine her interest in science with her desire to work with animals. She loves working with people to help keep their pets healthy and happy.
Dr. Chadwick completed her undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, in 1995. She went on to attend the North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.
Emergency and critical care and surgery are among Dr. Chadwick's many professional interests. She also volunteers her time as a veterinarian for the Asheville Humane Society.
Dr. Chadwick shares her home with a number of animal companions. Her dogs, Jamal, a miniature Poodle, and Maggie, a Cocker Spaniel mix, and her two cats, Stanley and Mable, always greet her when she comes home. When she's not at the hospital, Dr. Chadwick can be found outside gardening and hiking. She also enjoys reading and any activities involving dogs.
