Management Team

Hospital manager Joe Miele joined the Animal Hospital of North Asheville team in 1995. Joe is proud of the culture of care and compassion at the hospital and especially enjoys helping all the pets and clients that come into the hospital have the best experience possible.

When he's not at the hospital, Joe enjoys taking his grandchildren and daughter to softball and baseball functions, hosting cookouts in his backyard, and splitting wood for the winter. He most enjoys relaxing with his family, including his three cats, Max, Abby and Parker. Joe also raises chickens and has 40 chickens at home.

Ellen Polak is the accounting office manager at AHNA. A member of the staff since 2003, Ellen loves working at the hospital. Her hobbies include hiking, gardening, weaving and fiber arts, among other interests. Her animal companions include two hermit crabs.

Darlene is the financial assistant for AHNA. A member of the staff since 1998, she is proud of the excellent care offered by the hospital and enjoys learning something new about pets each day. When she's not at work, Darlene enjoys scrapbooking, card making, reading, knitting and participating in ministry for children and people with special needs. She has a wonderful husband and son and shares her home with two Labs, Cody and Hunter, and a cat named Sasha.
