Veterinary Assistant-Exam Room Team
Position Overview: The veterinary assistant provides support to the veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and clerical and administrative work. They deliver quality care for all patients and provide exceptional service.
Our Exam Room Team is a group of experienced Veterinary Assistants (VAs) who help DVM's move through their appointment load with ease! We are a Fear Free and AAHA Certified practice.
Primary responsibilities: greet clients and patients with compassion, take efficient and detailed patient history, communicate client and patient needs to DVM, safely and gently restrain patients for examinations and vaccinations, accurately invoice appointments when needed , accurately fill medications, clearly and concisely document client communications. Available to assist other areas of the hospital as needed. Must have excellent communication skills and a strong desire to help patients and clients receive necessary care.
Prior veterinary healthcare experience strongly preferred.
